    I have run GMC's / Chevrolet products since 1984, all bought from the same dealer. The owner decided to retire, June /July 2021. The owner had another GM dealer very interested in buying the business. But, GM management or one of the bigger dealers in the State of Maine, decided to close the franchise ! At the current time I am running a 2019, diesel, GMC, 3/4 ton SLT. As a result of a check engine light and the truck still under warranty I had to drive 80 miles one way to have the problem solved, but it took 2 trips to get the problem fixed. The dealer I have been with since 1984 is only 8 miles away. The dealer that did fix my truck, I didn't know them from a hole in the ground, where as where I have done business with since 1984, I know the owner, I know the service manager, I know the mechanic that worked on my vehicles. I trust these people. Hard to trust people you don't know. I live in a small town in Maine, there was a dealer for the 3 major vehicles in town, now there is only 2 major dealers in town.     As always, the customer is greeted with a friendly voice and assisted with getting checked in. The customer is made comfortable while they wait for service to be performed. At Darling's Auto Mall in Ellsworth they are always professional and courteous making the customer feel valued.

    My vehicle purchase was awful from the beginning to the end. The service department is just as bad, my time was wasted, and I was told there was nothing wrong with my brakes after they were "cleaned". My track cavitates terribly when I try stopping from any speed over 25 mph, and as the truck slows you can feel the brakes hitching as the wheels rotate. I will be going to another dealership and expect Darlings to pay for any repair costs that may be incurred.

    My first appointment, when I was available, resulted in me showing up at 0730 and being told my tires were not in. I was told, "you did not order them." I had considered that I ordered them (the tires) when I was in prior for my wife's car appt., made my appt. for my truck, selected the tires, and was told they (GMC customer service) would order the tires that I selected. I received no call or message that my tires were not in and could I alter my appt. This resulted in me driving 45 minutes to get to an appt. that did not happen. I made a new appt. and my wife had to take the truck in which is something she abhors. Also, she had to wait at least four hours for the work to be done and had to ask the status instead of being told the status. Was not a great experience and we have both purchased our vehicles from that Darlings dealership.
